The Rajasthan Regional AI Impact Conference 2026, held on January 6 at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC), marked a resounding success as a precursor to the India AI Impact Summit (February 15-20, 2026). Bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, startups, academia, and students, the event spotlighted AI’s transformative potential in governance, infrastructure, innovation, and workforce evolution, reinforcing Centre-State synergy for inclusive AI growth.
Key dignitaries included Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, MoS Jitin Prasada, Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, and IT Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore. Vaishnaw likened AI to epochal shifts like electricity and the internet, announcing Rajasthan’s first data centre (work starting soon) and a national program to skill 1 million youth via “YUVA AI for All” for widespread AI democratization.

Major launches featured the Rajasthan AI-ML Policy 2026 for ethical, transparent AI; Rajasthan AI Portal; iStart Learning Management System for skills and startups; and Rajasthan AVGC-XR Portal to boost animation, VFX, gaming, and XR sectors. CM Sharma highlighted AI integration in health, education, agriculture, and administration.

Several MoUs were signed via holographic displays with Google, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Delhi, and National Law University Jodhpur to enhance institutional ties and innovation.
Sessions delved into AI for public services, ethical AI, jobs/skills future, Rajasthan’s startup ecosystem, Digital Twins, infrastructure planning, and India’s shift from outsourcing to IP leadership. IIT Jodhpur emphasized locally rooted, globally viable solutions.
In tandem, IndiaAI’s Human Capital Working Group Meeting (January 5-6) at IIT Guwahati focused on AI as a public utility, stressing education reform, gender-inclusive strategies, and human augmentation over displacement.
The conference solidified Rajasthan’s AI ambitions, paving the way for national leadership in responsible, equitable tech advancement.
