IIM Amritsar’s 10th Annual Convocation for Class of 2026 to confer degrees on 300+ graduates across MBA, analytics, HR, EMBA, MSDSM, and inaugural PhD.
The Indian Institute of Management Amritsar (IIMAm) marked a significant milestone on 4 April 2026 with the successful hosting of its 10th Annual Convocation Ceremony at Festyn Palais, Amritsar. The event celebrated the institute’s evolving journey as a premier management school while formally recognising the academic achievements of over 300 graduating students from the Class of 2024–26.
The convocation conferred degrees across multiple programmes, including the tenth batch of the flagship MBA programme, the fourth batches of MBA in Business Analytics (MBA‑BA), MBA in Human Resources (MBA‑HR), and the Executive MBA (EMBA), and the second batch of the MSc in Data Science and Management (MSDSM), a joint programme offered in collaboration with IIT Ropar. The ceremony also celebrated the first doctoral publication in the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme at IIMAm, underscoring the institute’s growing focus on research and doctoral education.

Distinguished guests and ceremonial proceedings
The convocation brought together an eminent gathering of dignitaries, alumni, faculty, staff, students, proud families, and media representatives. Dr Meenesh C. Shah, Chairman of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), attended as the Chief Guest, while Mr Sachit Jain, Board Member, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Vardhman Special Steels Ltd, also joined the ceremony.

The event featured the presence of Prof Samir K. Srivastava, Director of IIMAm, Prof Rajeev Ahuja, Director of IIT Ropar, and several members of the institute’s Board of Governors. The convocation proceedings opened with Mr Sachit Jain formally inaugurating the ceremony and addressing the graduating class. In his speech, he traced the learners’ journey from information to knowledge, and from knowledge to wisdom.
Drawing on his professional experience, Mr Jain urged students to stay grounded, authentic, and ethics‑driven in their careers. He encouraged them to seek meaningful success rather than merely pursue conventional markers such as rank or salary, emphasising that lasting impact stems from integrity, resilience, and a sense of purpose.

Director’s reflections on growth and achievements
Following Mr Jain’s address, Prof Samir K. Srivastava congratulated the graduating batch and reflected on their journey marked by dedication, adaptability, and growth. He highlighted the Class of 2024–26 as a cohort that has navigated dynamic markets, evolving technologies, and shifting industry expectations, preparing them to lead in complex business environments.
Prof Srivastava also outlined key milestones achieved by IIMAm over the past year, underscoring the institute’s progress in academic excellence, research output, and institutional development. He noted that the faculty published 27 research papers in SCI/SCOPUS‑indexed and other reputed journals during the year, reflecting a growing research culture. The institute also strengthened its faculty base and achieved its first doctoral publication, marking a critical step in building a robust research ecosystem.
Prof Srivastava further highlighted placement outcomes for the graduating batches. The flagship MBA programme recorded an average annual salary of ₹14.26 lakh, with the highest package reaching ₹43 lakh per annum. The MSc in Data Science and Management (MSDSM) programme achieved an average salary of ₹14 lakh per annum, demonstrating strong industry demand for data‑driven leadership skills.
A milestone in IIMAm’s journey
The 10th Annual Convocation served as both a celebration and a strategic inflection point for IIMAm. By conferring degrees on over 300 graduates across multiple programmes and launching its first doctoral‑level publication, the institute reinforced its position as a multi‑programme, research‑oriented management school. The presence of industry leaders, policymakers, and academic partners reflected broad recognition of IIMAm’s growing contribution to management education and applied research.
For the graduating students, the ceremony represented more than a formal degree conferral; it marked the culmination of intensive learning, personal growth, and professional preparation. As they stepped into corporate roles, entrepreneurship, and advanced academic pursuits, the convocation reminded them to approach their careers with ethical clarity, intellectual curiosity, and social responsibility.
By anchoring the event in the historic city of Amritsar, IIMAm also symbolically linked its management education mission with the cultural and economic vitality of northern India. The 10th Annual Convocation thus stands as a milestone that not only honours a generation of graduates but also signals IIMAm’s ambition to become a nationally and globally recognised hub for management education, research, and leadership development.
