The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur and the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Una have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost joint research, innovation, and academic synergy. This partnership spans joint research projects, startup ecosystem growth, training programs, lab infrastructure development, and shared educational resources.

Faculty and students from both institutes will team up on interdisciplinary projects in cutting-edge technology domains, sparking innovation. Entrepreneurship support includes incubation programs, mentoring, and innovation events to nurture startups.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, and Prof. Manish Gaur, Director of IIIT Una, with Prof. Kumar Vaibhav Srivastava, Acting Dean (R&D) at IIT Kanpur, in attendance.

Prof. Agrawal remarked, “This collaboration with IIIT Una advances our commitment to innovation and excellence in higher education. It will bolster academic and technological strengths, enriching India’s national innovation ecosystem.”

Skill-building takes center stage through joint training, faculty development, student workshops, academic exchanges, guest lectures, seminars, and curriculum co-creation. Shared resources will equip students and faculty with technical expertise and domain knowledge.

A standout feature is the co-development of advanced research labs and innovation hubs. Both institutions gain reciprocal access to facilities, tools, and assets, supercharging R&D capabilities.

This alliance promises to elevate research output, foster entrepreneurship, and drive academic excellence, positioning IIT Kanpur and IIIT Una as key players in India’s tech landscape.
