Vikram Solar Limited has appointed Sameer Nagpal as Chief Executive Officer, effective March 20, 2026, as the company accelerates its capacity expansion and global growth agenda. With over three decades of multi‑industry leadership experience, Nagpal is expected to strengthen Vikram Solar’s position in the solar and emerging energy‑storage markets.
Vikram Solar Limited has appointed Sameer Nagpal as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective March 20, 2026, as the company advances its capacity expansion and backward‑integration plans. Nagpal brings more than 30 years of senior leadership experience across sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and engineering‑intensive industries. He has held key roles at Livguard Energy Technologies, Dalmia Bharat Group, Shalimar Paints, Ingersoll Rand, Zicom, and Carrier Air Conditioning, giving him strong operational and strategic acumen.
Nagpal holds a mechanical engineering degree from Delhi College of Engineering and a post‑graduate diploma in business management from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta), combining technical grounding with management expertise. He succeeds Krishna Kumar Maskara, who had served as Interim CEO after Vikram Solar’s stock market listing in August 2025. Maskara has been redesignated as Whole‑Time Director and Chief Operating Officer (COO), while continuing as Chief Risk Officer (CRO); his remuneration and directorship remain unchanged.
The leadership change coincides with an ambitious growth roadmap. Vikram Solar aims to reach 15.5 GW of module manufacturing capacity and 12 GW of cell manufacturing through backward integration, strengthening its control over the solar value chain. The company also plans to enter the energy storage segment, targeting 5 GWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) module manufacturing and 7.5 GWh of battery cell manufacturing capacity.
Chairman and Managing Director Gyanesh Chaudhary said the company is focusing on combining strong execution with strategic transformation as it moves toward a more integrated and globally competitive structure. Nagpal stated his priorities would include strengthening Vikram Solar’s market position, expanding its international presence across its existing footprint in 39 countries, and building deeper integrated capabilities.
Separately, Anil Bhadauria, Executive Vice President and Head of Manufacturing Operations, has resigned and will leave on May 31, 2026, after completing his notice period. Vikram Solar currently operates with a cumulative production capacity of 9.5 GW, with manufacturing facilities at Falta in West Bengal and Panaiyur, Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu.
