Jupally Krishna Rao, Minister‑in‑charge for the combined Adilabad district, convened a high‑level meeting in Hyderabad to review the situation at Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (Basara IIIT) in Nirmal district after recent student protests led to the institution declaring a holiday. The meeting was attended by the university’s Vice‑Chancellor, Professor Goverdhan, and OSD Murali Darshan, who briefed the Minister on the campus developments and the reasons behind the student agitation.
The Vice‑Chancellor informed the Minister that holidays had been declared as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order in view of the unrest. Officials outlined the sequence of events that triggered the protests and highlighted the key demands raised by students. Jupally Krishna Rao reviewed these points in detail and asked for clarity on the steps already taken by the administration to address the grievances.

Addressing the situation, the Minister appealed to the students – whom he described as highly talented – not to risk their promising futures by engaging in impulsive protests. He stressed that all complaints should be resolved through systematic dialogue and assured that the government remained fully committed to safeguarding students’ interests.
Jupally Krishna Rao also made it clear that there would be no compromise on improving infrastructure and maintaining the academic standards of Basara IIIT. He directed the Vice‑Chancellor to take immediate measures to restore normalcy on campus and to reassure both students and their parents. The Minister added that he would visit the institute after the ongoing Assembly sessions to interact directly with students and examine the situation on the ground.
